I hope that all of our members had a busy but relaxing summer. As the season comes to an end, the association is excited for what fall & winter will bring.

One of our main goals is to educate our members. The STA’s slate of events for the remainder of 2018 will do just that. In October and November, we will be holding four extremely important events:

  • October 16: Safety Seminar presented by Total Safety Consulting – this seminar will address the December 1, 2018/June 1, 2019 Local Law 196 safety requirements, as well as the new FDNY requirements for fire extinguisher tags and the current requirements for fire protection during building demolition, construction and alterations. 8:00-10:30am, CohnReznick, 1301 Sixth Avenue, 10th Floor, New York City.   • October 30: General Membership Meeting – Let’s Do Business – this event gives STA members an exclusive opportunity to participate in 10 minute one-on-one meetings with senior procurement officials from prime general contracting firms in the public and private market sectors. 5:30-7:30pm, Baruch College William & Anita Newman Conference Center, 151 East 25th Street, 7th Click here to register.
  • Date to Be Announced: General Counsel Roundtable – an industry wide forum for subcontractors to better understand how contract provisions and related legal precedents impact their projects and businesses. 5:30-7:30pm, location to be announced.
  • November, date to be announced: Anti-sexual harassment seminar – with the enactment of new city & state laws, it is imperative for companies of all sizes to thoroughly understand the dates, regulations and meaning of these laws and the anti-sexual harassment measures they can take to protect employees. 8:00am-10:30am, location to be announced.
