Yes, Construction Compliance and Training is a family-owned business. Eileen Mills is the president of the company with her husband Patrick Mills as Vice President. Their daughter Emma Mills is a recent graduate of the University of Delaware and joined the family business this summer.

- What have been some of the firm’s major accomplishments; major projects?
While Construction Compliance and Training has worked on numerous jobs throughout the New York City area, some of our largest projects have been as a Safety Consultant on 1 Vanderbilt Ave and 9 Dekalb Ave. Both were massive projects that spanned over a few years and Construction Compliance and Training provided safety services throughout that time.
- Where does Your firm operate-just NY or other areas?
Our firm operates in only the NY area where we have the most expertise.
- What have been some of the unique traits of the firm?
Our Vice President Patrick Mills has worked in the NY construction industry since he immigrated to America in 1983 and his knowledge of construction sites and construction safety is remarkable. Patrick was in the bricklayer’s union for 25 years and got his Site Safety Mangers license in 2002. Eileen Mills has worked as a teacher for over two decades and understands exactly how to help students learn. The pair have created a company that helps every worker they meet learn how to safety navigate a construction site.
- How has your firm been involved in the construction industry?
Patrick Mills is a member of SCENY, World Safety Organization, DOB Code Review, International Accreditation Construction Advisory Board, Board Certified Safety Professional, Licensed NYS Code 59 Auditor, and is licensed by DOB.
- What are some challenges the firm has overcome?
Covid was one of the largest challenges our firm has overcome. Construction safety was not at the forefront of most people’s mind at the time, but when lockdowns lifted, we were able to pick up where most construction sites left off and advise construction workers how to stay safe.
- What does the firm think its legacy has been for the NY construction industry?
We believe at Construction Compliance and Training that we have created a standard of quality and professionalism for safety consulting in the New York area. We hope that every student who comes to our courses, or we meet on site will remember our safety guidance so they can do their job as safely as possible.

The Subcontractors Trade Association is a professional organization that represents subcontractors who believe in supporting other businesses.
