PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Robert Weiss
Dear STA members,
Another busy year has once again passed us by. I hope that all of our members and friends will have the opportunity to take a few days to relax during this holiday season.
In 2019, the STA will continue our work on behalf of our subcontractor members and to improve the industry as a whole.
Early in the year, we will be releasing a special industry White Paper reviewing key clauses and provisions that should be considered when negotiating your next contract. This paper will be released on February 6, at the STA’s Industry Contract Clause Roundtable.
The association has a great slate of educational events planned for next year, including seminars on construction claims, the new tax law, and succession planning. We will continue to hold our General Membership Meetings, networking events, and of course, our Annual Construction Awards Dinner, which will be held on April 11, 2019.
In the new year, I also hope that we will continue to spread the word about our “Young Professionals Group”. It is important to create long-lasting working relationships in the generations below us to ensure the continued success of our association. I ask that if you have young professionals in your company, please let them know about the STA and the Young Professionals Group. If anyone in your firm would like to get involved, please have them contact the STA at ssweeney@stanyc.com.
As 2018 draws to a close, I wish all of our members, friends and colleagues a safe and happy holiday season, and a joyous new year.
Very best,
Robert Weiss
STA President
