[minti_spacer]

Dear STA members,

The 2022 STA Construction Awards Gala took place on Wednesday, April 13 at Gotham Hall in Manhattan.

It is difficult to put into words how the night felt. Special. Energizing. Different from past awards galas. Coming out of the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the association wasn’t sure if there would be a good turnout. People are rightfully still cautious, and large-scale events have yet come back in full force.

Naturally, our membership, supporters and friends proved us wrong. The gala sold out weeks before the event. On April 13, over 500 guests came to the venue ready to see colleagues and industry friends. I would like to thank each and every one of you who attended the awards dinner. It was my first and last in-person gala as President of the Board of Directors, and I will certainly never forget it.

I would also like to thank our esteemed awardees: Chris Asaro, Richard Smyth, Lou Coletti, Lenny Legotte and Anthony Mann. Without them, the dinner would not have been as successful as it was!

STA also had the special privilege of awarding 8 Young Professionals the 2022 Emerging Leaders Award:
Phillip Kenny – FTI Consulting

Norman Gomez-Vasquez – Gallagher

Jon Dinsmore – EAI

Marco Rodriguez – Milwaukee Tool

Brett Blangiforti – Grassi Advisors & Accountants

Reed Ellison – Anchin

Stefan Myszka – Anchin

Danielle Montesano – Anchin

I look forward to seeing many of you once again at the STA Annual Meeting on June 9 at Club 101 in Manhattan.

Very best,

Joe Leo

STA President
