PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Joe Leo
President
Subcontractors Trade Association
Atlantic Contracting & Specialties

As summer has now turned to autumn, the STA is planning a number of events and seminars for our members for the remainder of 2021!

On October 14, the STA will host an “in person” reception at the Club 101 in Manhattan.  This will be the STA’s first “in person” event in over 18 months.   Entitled “Opening New York”, this reception will honor some of the most prominent leaders of the public sector who have led the way to the ongoing recovery of our New York construction industry as we slowly emerge from the COVID pandemic.  With this “in person” event, we hope that you will be able to once again join your colleagues from across the industry and network with the leaders of some of the most important public construction agencies.  More information on this event can be found in this October newsletter or by going to the STA’s website at www.stanyc.com.

Following our “in person” event, on October 27, the STA and our member Anchin. Block, & Anchin will host a webinar on cybersecurity.  The issue of cybersecurity is one that will continue to gain in importance as we all increasingly depend on the internet and online applications to keep our businesses running smoothly.  This event will be conducted virtually through the Zoom platform.  Look for additional information on this event in your mailbox in the upcoming days.

Finally, on November 30, the STA is assembling a panel of experts and general contractors for a forum which will provide a forecast of what you can expect from the construction market in 2022.  This forum promises to be thought provoking while providing our members with a road map on where the industry will be going with new work in 2022 and how our subcontractor members can plan accordingly!

Look for more information on each of these events in the coming weeks and I hope to see you at our “Opening New York” event on October 14!

Regards,

Joseph Leo
