This is a difficult President’s Message to write. We are in an unprecedented time in the history of our city and our nation. I understand just how difficult it is right now as a business owner, father, and New Yorker.
For over 50 years, the STA has stood with our constituents through some of the hardest times we’ve faced as subcontractors, and this current health crisis is no different.
We are working with other industry groups to stay updated on rules and regulations. The STA staff is participating almost every day in conference calls with construction leaders to stay informed on the current climate of the industry. Please look out for ongoing bulletins from the STA in regards to COVID-19 issues. While the STA had a robust plan of seminars and events for the next few months, many of these will still go on as webinars or will be rescheduled as in-person events as soon as the situation allows. Our annual Construction Awards Dinner, originally to be held on April 2, 2020, will now take place on November 17, 2020 at the Grand Hyatt.
I wish the utmost health, safety and goodwill to all of our members and industry colleagues. I am confident that we will come back from this stronger than ever. It will be a difficult few weeks, even months, but there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.
