STA members should be on the lookout for some exciting and informative events in the coming weeks and months!
On April 11, the STA’s 2018 Annual Awards Dinner will take place at Guastavino’s located here in Manhattan. This is the largest and most significant fundraising event for the STA and is a big factor in funding the services and activities of our organization. This event will provide valuable networking opportunities for attendees and offers an outstanding roster of award recipients.
Additional information regarding tickets, ads, and sponsorship opportunities for the Dinner can be found in this newsletter or on the STA’s website at www.stanyc.com.
Also, the STA will be holding a seminar on New York City’s recently enacted safety training law and OSHA’s silica standards on May 1 again here in Manhattan. This seminar which will be moderated by STA’s newest members, Total Safety Consulting, should provide members with an up to date briefing on the complex and changing safety training law and its requirements. Look for more information in the coming week for this event.
On June 5, the STA will be holding its Annual/General Membership Meeting at a location to be determined. This event will feature a General Contractors Roundtable with some of the most important GC’s in New York City presenting the latest on their upcoming projects. In addition to this program, this meeting will also feature the election of new officers for the upcoming year.
In September, the STA is planning another “speed dating” seminar, offering members the opportunity to meet “one on one” with a variety of union general contractors and construction managers. Also, the STA’s Annual Golf Outing will be held at the Village Club at Lake Success on September 24.
A roundtable discussion is being scheduled for November on the issue of troublesome contract clauses. This event will coincide with the release of a white paper by the STA on this subject.
Finally, the STA will be holding a holiday party on December 4 at the offices of Cohn Reznick located here in Manhattan. This social event will provide members with the opportunity to network while ushering in the holiday season!
