Cuomo”][/minti_member][minti_toggle title=”Biography”]Ali Chaudhry currently serves as the Deputy Secretary for Transportation for New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. Chaudhry has previously served as Deputy Secretary for Economic Development and Assistant Counsel to Governor Cuomo, with a focus on transportation and economic development. He provided counsel on priority capital projects including the LaGuardia Airport redevelopment, the new Tappan Zee Bridge, the Second Avenue Subway, the MTA Capital Plan, the DOT Capital Plan, the Empire Station Complex, the Broadband Initiative, and the expansion of the Javits Convention Center.

Chaudhry has also served as counsel on various economic development projects across the State, as well as alternative project delivery procurement. Prior to joining the Executive Chamber, Mr. Chaudhry served as Assistant Counsel in the New York State Senate, where he was counsel to several legislative committees over the course of three years. Before joining public service, Mr. Chaudhry practiced civil litigation in the private sector, focusing on employment matters.[/minti_toggle]

A transformative senior executive with a career in bridge design and construction, she has held leadership positions in several international consulting firms. Her industry experience includes leadership of the strategic, operational and technical aspects for the delivery of major structures projects.

A registered professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in bridge management, design, construction and inspection, she has special emphasis on complex and long span bridges. Barbas’ experience includes a number of award winning, domestic and international projects. She has led the inspection, design and construction support services for the reconstruction of the Williamsburg Bridge in NYC – one of the largest bridge reconstruction projects ever undertaken in the U.S. and led the design of the major bridges of the AutoRoute 30 project in Montreal, Canada – one of the largest P3 bridge projects in North America[/minti_toggle]

[minti_member img=”16657″ name=”Robert Barbera, P.E., DBIA” role=”Vice President & General Manager, Turner Engineering Group”][/minti_member][minti_toggle title=”Biography”]As a Vice President for Turner Construction Company’s Engineering Group, Robert Barbera oversees the operation of this division, which provides design expertise and guidance to Turner’s Design Build (D-B) projects domestically. Design Management and Specialist experts address all facets of D-B delivery, to achieve effective risk mitigation and design optimization.

Barbera’s career began at Turner in 1988, assuming various roles within preconstruction responsibilities. In the years that followed, he was promoted to positions of greater responsibility in the New York office, including Director of Preconstruction and Manager of Healthcare. Barbera transferred to the New Jersey Business Unit holding positions as Director of Technical Services; and Director of Interiors, where he oversaw a staff of more than 60 professionals. After a brief period working for a program management firm, managing northeast operations, Barbera re-joined Turner in his current position with the Turner Engineering Group.[/minti_toggle]

[/minti_member][minti_toggle title=”Biography”]Michael Mifsud has overseen numerous high-level Design Build transportation projects throughout the northeast, from proposal through design stage, construction and project start-up. Mifsud has also served as a Project Manager and Business Development Manager at Skanska, where he led Design Build Business Development for USA Civil Construction in the Northeast Region. He specialized in highway, bridges, tunnels, power generation, water & wastewater plants, and rail and transit projects.

During his time at Skanska, Mifsud also served as the Director of Special Projects, where he led the group established to develop and build projects in the range of $2 through $25 million in the New York area, uniquely targeted to provide work flow for Skanska’s self-perform union trades and management opportunities for young engineers. Mifsud oversaw estimating teams, contract negotiation, procurement, field staffing, and construction through closeout on five projects obtained by this group.[/minti_toggle]
