Bonnie Brook
Co-Founder and President, Stephenson+Brook

Bonnie Brook is Co-Founder and President at Stephenson+Brook. She is credited with having directed the expansion of Stephenson+Brook into a multi- million dollar business. In addition to heading the sales team at Stephenson & Brook, she consults and trains senior corporate executives throughout the U.S. on issues concerning the impact workers’ compensation issues may have on corporate operations as well as pending mergers and acquisitions. 

 

Brook speaks frequently to national and regional business associations. She has served on the Fraud Commission of the National Council on Compensation Insurance, The Workers’ Compensation Task Force of the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of MA, and The White House Task Force for Small Business. Currently, she is on the membership committee of the Associated Subcontractors of MA and on the Board of Directors of the Construction Financial Managers Association. Brook has extensive corporate experience in industrial and employee relations and holds a Master’s Degree in Labor Relations from New York University.

Cathie McGrath
Vice President – Claims, Alliant Insurance

Cathie McGrath is Vice President – Claims at Alliant Insurance. She has a solid track record working on national accounts with loss sensitive programs. She has worked closely with the project teams on over 50 wrap ups to ensure that the claims service provided is seamless with the carrier’s claims services and tailored to the needs of each client.  Notable Projects / Accounts Include:  Related Properties – Hudson Yards Development, Comfort Systems USA, Gotham Construction, Monadnock Construction, EW Howell Construction, TF Cornerstone Development, Rockrose Development, Weill Cornell Medical Center, Hunt Construction, Sports Facilities (Citi Field and University of Phoenix Stadium),  Airport Projects (Tampa), Convention Centers (Phoenix Convention Center,  Moscone  Center,  Kent County Convention Center), General Services Administration Projects (Brooklyn Post Office and Federal Court House), New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority  Capital Programs including 2nd Avenue Subway, NYCT and Metro North – Long Island Railroad. 

 

McGrath possesses in-depth expertise on NY Labor Law issues, negotiating claim disputes, coverage analysis and brings her legal knowledge to bear for clients in order to reach a settlement as quickly as possible.

 

She received her Bachelor’s Degree from St. Michael’s College and received her Juris Doctor from New York Law School.

Carl Oliveri

Construction Practice Leader and Partner, Grassi

Carl Oliveri is the Construction Practice Leader and a partner at Grassi. He has over 25 years of experience advising owners and executives in the Construction industry, particularly in project-centric and companywide financial modeling, operational strategy development, financial statement accounting services and income tax method analysis. This extensive industry experience allows him to provide insight and advice to construction clients on marketplace trends and best practices.

 

Oliveri’s thought leadership in the industry is well-established. He has been a featured speaker at national construction conferences hosted by prestigious associations like the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Construction Industry CPAs and Consultants (CICPAC). His influence extends across the Metropolitan area, where he has presented at events organized by the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) Construction Conference and various trade associations. Additionally, he has published articles on a wide range of contemporaneous issues impacting the construction community.

 

He is the Chairperson of the Construction Financial Management Association’s (CFMA) National Emerging Issues and a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers CPA Advisory Board. Before that, he served as a member of the Executive Committee of CICPAC, currently serving as the Thought Leader Committee chair. He has also served on the board for the New York City Chapter of CFMA, held an at-large position on the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (ICCIFP) board, and was the Chairperson for the NYSSCPA Construction Contractors Committee.

 

Other professional affiliations include membership in the AICPA and the worldwide and New York City chapters of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

 

Oliveri earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management from the York College of Pennsylvania.

Anthony Campolo

Partner, CohnReznick

Anthony J. Campolo, CPA, is a Partner in CohnReznick’s White Plains, New York Office. He is the White Plains Office Leader for CohnReznick’s Construction Industry Practice.

 

Campolo has extensive experience and knowledge of the complexities of operating a business in the Construction Industry. His clients include: general contractors, construction management firms, heavy highway contractors, equipment & supply companies, real estate developers and specialty subcontractors who all work in both the public and private sectors. His specialties include construction accounting, auditing, advisory, tax, strategic business planning and strategic tax planning.

 

Campolo has a Bachelors in Business Administration from Pace University. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and Subcontractors Trade Association (STA) – Chairman of Finance Committee, Executive Advisory Board.

Nancy Schnee

Senior Vice President, American Global

Nancy Schnee is Senior Vice President at American Global. Schnee brings over 35 years experience working in the construction industry, where she has been responsible for establishing, managing and growing a broad range of surety bond programs. She has provided valuable insights and facilitated critical performance security solutions for global, regional and local companies. She has developed deep experience in alternative project delivery methods, including P3, gap financing, and large design-build projects.

Before joining American Global, she was a Senior Vice President at Aon, and prior to that Allied North America. Additionally, she is proud to be a founding board member of Women in Surety (WIS), where she most recently moved into the role of President.

 

Schnee enjoys many outdoor activities including skiing, tennis, hiking, biking and traveling. She has been married to her husband Scott for 31 years and has 3 children, Emily (28), Brian (25) & Kevin (24).

Lou Spina

Senior Vice President, Alliant Specialty

Lou Spina is Senior Vice President, Alliant Specialty, bolstering the company’s New York-based surety team. The surety industry veteran brings more than 36 years of experience and will service Alliant’s surety clients along the East Coast.

 

With decades of experience both as a surety underwriter and in his current role as a broker, Spina is recognized for his ability to analyze financial data, help construction firms optimize operations, and minimize liability and exposure in an ever-changing construction environment.

 

In his role with Alliant, Spina will focus his expertise to develop and implement surety solutions for Alliant clients along the East Coast and employ his extensive business development skills to grow and expand Alliant’s reach throughout the region.

Prior to Alliant, Spina was Senior Vice President of Northeast Surety Operations in the Long Island office of a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm.

Andrew Richards

Co-managing Partner, Kaufman Folowich Voluck’s (KDV Law)

Andrew L. Richards is the Co-managing Partner at Kaufman Folowich Voluck’s (KDV Law) of the Long Island office and Co-chair of KDV Law’s Construction Practice Group.

 

Richards has more than 30 years of experience in construction and surety law, commercial litigation and errors and omissions defense for architects and engineers.

 

Richards represents property owners, developers, general contractors, construction managers, trade/subcontractors, architects, engineers, material suppliers and surety companies. His experience encompasses both private construction and public improvement projects. Richards also drafts and negotiates construction contracts and renders advice to clients during a project to avoid post-project litigation. His broad commercial litigation experience includes shareholder disputes, employment disputes, fraud claims, real estate disputes, discrimination claims and finders’ fee claims.

 

Richards is involved in many professional memberships including the General Counsel, STA, New York State Bar Association, Association of General Contractors of the City of New York, Associated General Contractors of New York State, Long Island Contractors’ Association, Construction Financial Management Association, Long Island Chapter Board of Directors, Long Island Real Estate Group, Board of Directors and New York Building Congress.

 

Richards has also been recognized by the General Counsel, STA, Who’s Who in Corporate Law, Long Island Business News (June 2011), and the Super Lawyers.

 

Richards obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics at Vassar College and earned his Juris Doctorate at Brooklyn Law School.

David Mott

Vice President and the Director of Scheduling, Riverso Associates

David J. Mott has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry and is currently the Vice President and the Director of Scheduling for Riverso Associates. Mott manages a staff of Project Controls Specialists currently providing the scheduling needs for over 40 projects in the NY metro area. In addition to managing active projects, Mott has provided expert testimony supporting the preparation of time impact analysis resulting from complex construction delays and accelerations.

 

He has worked on many projects spanning industry sectors including education, healthcare, industrial, transportation, and sports arenas. Mott is currently certified as a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) and is on the Board of Directors for the AACE’s Long Island Chapter. He is also a continual guest speaker for the Manhattan College Civil Engineering Program.

Edward Grimmett

Attorney, Kaufman Dolowich

Edward Grimmett is an attorney at Kaufman Dolowich. He focuses his practice in employment and labor law. Grimmett provides general counsel and labor counsel services to school districts, public libraries and other municipal entities. He provides daily advice and counsel on contract administration, workplace investigations, and employment and antidiscrimination laws. 

 

He represents the clients in collective bargaining negotiations, employee disciplinary hearings and matters before the Public Employment Relations Board. Grimmett also assisted with the reopening of schools by providing advice and counsel on the rapid changes to federal, state and local laws during the COVID-19 pandemic.
