ABOUT

Subcontractors Trade Association (STA) of New York City was established in July 1966 by a group of New York City union subcontractors and suppliers who recognized the need for greater representation. Today, several hundred of New York’s leading subcontractors, representing every field within the construction industry, comprise STA.

ACCESS

We prioritize the needs of union subcontractors.

STA offers a platform through our membership and committee meetings, allowing members to network, exchange information, establish relationships with both public and private owners, stay updated on procurement opportunities, and address arising issues.

ADVOCATE

We stand as your advocate.

STA’s active member engagement supports our powerful advocacy initiatives, yielding more than 40 legislative victories aimed at enhancing the business landscape for subcontractors throughout New York State. Our advocacy spans Albany, and City Hall, and engages with owners and contractors, all directed towards addressing and resolving issues impacting subcontractors.

ADVANCE

We inform, educate, and propel your business forward.

STA offers comprehensive education, training programs, industry newsletters and regulatory alerts designed to equip members with essential tools and information to grow their business and ensure long-term success. These initiatives serve to educate, inform and result in professional development within the New York City union subcontractor community.

STA Committees

STA Committees serve as a platform for members to connect, shape agendas, and actively participate in advocacy efforts.

These Committees play a pivotal role in identifying key industry issues and provide an opportunity for members to learn about the latest developments and solutions. Committee members are able to meet directly with agencies and public owners to problem solve, provide input on STA’s education programs and our new Technology Expo, engage with other young professionals at STA, partner with general contractors, and help grow STA membership and events.
